Star Trail Field Trip

I’m always up for a field trip to see new construction homes. And I was especially excited when I found out a group of Realtors were going out to see the up-and-coming Star Trail development in Prosper. With luxury homebuilders including Toll Brothers, Britton, American Legend, Highland and Coventry, I couldn’t wait to see the model homes.

Star Trail. Sounds like a pretty place to live, doesn’t it? And I have to tell you the 900 acre masterplanned community lived up to its name. It truly is something special from the 6,000 square foot clubhouse with three swimming pools, and lighted tennis courts to the community’s 54-acres of community parks, and hiking and biking trails. Truly a whole other world in itself.

Right away, I made a comment about the street signs having star in the name, such as Star Trace, Star Meadow, Shooting Star. I envisioned this was because you could see the stars better at night just a little farther out from the city of Dallas in Prosper. However, it didn’t take long for one of our group to point out to me that it was because The Star Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters wasn’t far away. Yes, of course, this is where the name originated. (Don’t worry even if you’re not a Dallas Cowboy there is plenty for you to do at The Star with 22 restaurants, 12 sports bars, 8 patios, 7 boutique shops, and 24 salon stations.)

Located less than one mile from the Dallas North Tollway, there is so much to love about Star Trail.

Priced from the upper $300s to the high $800s, each of the model homes were fully-loaded with spectacular architectural details and the latest trends in designer colors and home furnishings. Yes, I like to see how the homes are staged as much as I like to see the homes themselves.

Expansive rooms and towering ceilings in all the models made for an impressive first impression. I don’t think you could ever get tired of looking at the incredible interiors no matter how long you lived in one of these beauties. No expense was spared in the craftsmanship. Absolutely loved the kitchens and bathrooms.

One model featured a great one-story plan with wide open spaces that flowed from the living areas to the kitchen for easy entertaining. Most of the outdoor patios in these luxury homes came complete with majestic stone fireplaces making the great outdoors even greater whether you’re having a party or just a quiet evening home alone. Just beautiful.

Another unique feature in one of the model homes was a wall of windows in the living area that we discovered could be fully opened for entertaining outdoors. It was so easy to just push it all the way open and close it again. I asked how much a feature like this cost and the answer was around $10,000.

One of the homes also had an inner courtyard complete with a water feature running down the wall. It was easy to see myself nestled there on one of the plush outdoor sofas reading a book. Oh wait, I’m looking at homes for you, right?
